I am currently working as a part of the census so I found this an interesting choice. First off, personally, I'm inclined to like anything that Christopher Guest and his usual crew do (think the movies Best In Show or A Mighty Wind if you don't recognize them). They're more of a cult favorite though and i'm not sure who this commercial is trying to appeal to. I've spoken to other people about the spot and some just seemed confused by it. It might be worth noting that these people also didn't know Christopher Guest movies. I'm not saying it's a prerequisite for understanding it but maybe it helps to know his style. I also found it odd that the Census used this crew shortly after Direct TV(I think it was Direct TV) did in a campaign.
